Westminster Presbyterian Church Foundation

Helping Westminster honor the past, sustain the present, & nurture the future.
The Westminster Presbyterian Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated exclusively to supporting Westminster Presbyterian Church. It operates nine distinct funds, each with a specific focus. Through strategic investments, your contributions ensure sustained support for the church, extending from the present into the future, benefiting not only your children and grandchildren but also future generations indefinitely.

The WPC Foundation’s Board of Trustees, selected from the congregation of Westminster Presbyterian Church, oversees the Foundation’s operations. The Foundation receives financial gifts to benefit WPC, its facilities, and its ministries. All Foundation monies are kept separate from the church's budget and are entrusted to the Texas Presbyterian Foundation (TPC) of Irving, Texas. TPC, a reputable financial firm, manages monies for more than 150 Presbyterian churches across the country.

Our Endowment Funds

Your gift to the Westminster Church Foundation will support the church, its facilities, its ministries, and the communities we serve in perpetuity.
Up to 5% of the funds will be distributed to the church annually while preserving and growing the principal.

Good Steward Fund

The Good Steward Fund is our largest fund and the cornerstone of the WPC Foundation. Through its annual grants to the WPC session, the Good Steward Fund directly addresses the routine and unexpected needs of the church. Every dollar invested in this fund directly affects our congregation and our community programs.

The G. Raymond Campbell Fund

Investment income from the G. Raymond Campbell Fund is evenly split. Half supports the Deacons in their assistance to the needy; the other half supports church members who are studying for the ministry.

Mission Fund

The Mission Fund ensures the funding of our church’s mission activities; these include the Urban Mission, Infant Crisis Services, Dwight Mission, Habitat for Humanity, Special Program for Arts and Reading for Kids (SPARK), Mobile Meals, and others.

Youth Ministry Fund

The Youth Ministry Fund was established in 2010. It specifically supports the hiring of youth ministry summer interns and scholarships for youth mission trips.

Education Fund

The Education Fund was established to support a multitude of educational activities at WPC. These include the adult education programs and other aspects of Christian education at our church.

Carillon Fund

The Carillon Fund provides support for the music ministry and upkeep of our unique 63-year-old carillon.

Ethelyn Maier Music Scholarship Fund

The Ethelyn Maier Music Scholarship Fund was transferred to the WPC Foundation by Central Presbyterian Church in 2021. This fund provides academic scholarships for one or more promising music students who share their time and talent with the WPC congregation.

The SPARK Fund

The Special Program Art Reading for Kids (SPARK) Fund is the WPC Foundation's newest fund. It was created in November 2022 to establish a future program to provide support in art and reading for children who are in the church, surrounding neighborhoods, and nearby elementary schools.

The Birthday Club Fund

The Birthday Club Fund, established in 2019, is a fund designed to foster new ministries at WPC. Donations to the fund are made in honor of the birthdays of members of the congregation and their loved ones. Donation cards are conveniently available outside the sanctuary.

The Westminster Presbyterian Church Foundation was officially incorporated as an Oklahoma non-profit foundation on May 18, 2001, for the purpose of supporting the ongoing mission of the church for generations to come.

You have demonstrated tremendous commitment to your family and church throughout your life. You have given time, money, and resources, and shared your faith in many ways. Consider leaving one last testament of faith that can greatly impact your church community and world.

Your Will

Your Will provides clarity regarding:
- Distribution of Possessions
- Guardianship of a minor or management of their inherited estate
- Assets your loved ones receive
- Your specific instructions
With many of your priorities determined,  you can begin looking for a way to make your Will not simply a financial  statement, but also a faith statement.
The simple inclusion of your church or  beloved ministry into your Will encourages others in their faith, while  honoring your own. Bequests can be added when first establishing your Will or through an amendment known as a "Codicil."

Beginning Steps

- Determine the needs of your family
- List the ministry or ministries you would like to support
- Finalize recipients to be listed in your Will
- Contact your attorney to establish, amend or review your Will
- Relax knowing your statement of faith will live on for many years

Bequests

A bequest is the simplest and most common planned gift. It is an effective way to exercise stewardship with accumulated assets and is best accomplished when creating, reviewing or rewriting your Will. There are several types of bequests.

Specific Assets Bequest

"I give and bequeath all my shares of A Great Company, Inc., Class A common stock to Westminster Presbyterian Church Foundation."

Fixed Dollar Request

"I give and bequeath to Westminster Presbyterian Church Foundation the sum of $25,000 for the Children's Ministry."

Percentage Request

“I give and bequeath to Westminster Presbyterian Church Foundation ten percent (10%) of my residuary estate."

Contingency Request

"In the event that my beneficiary predeceases me, I bequeath to Westminster Presbyterian Church Foundation the sum of $50,000."

Deferred Gift Annuity

This is another way to assure yourself lifetime payments from property you contribute. When you make an irrevocable gift of cash or securities, you will receive a fixed dollar amount annually, which is determined by your age at the time of the gift. After death, the remaining funds are permanently given to the Foundation.

Life Insurance Beneficiary

Life insurance is an excellent way to create a significantly increased future gift through small annual gifts. When you take out a new policy listing the Foundation as owner and beneficiary, all premium payments are deductible as charitable gifts.

Retirement Plans

Consider naming the Westminster Presbyterian Church Foundation as the beneficiary of your IRA or other retirement plans. Careful planning can minimize the taxes due on retirement during life and death.
All donations to the Westminster Presbyterian Church Foundation are tax-deductible and have great tax-saving benefits. For help in setting up any of these gift plans, please contact any member of the Foundation's Board of Trustees. You may also call the Church Business Office at 405.524.2224 ext. 223.
