Our worship theme for Lent will be based on a pivotal passage in Luke's Gospel, where we are told "When the days drew near for him to be taken up, Jesus set his face to go to Jerusalem." (Luke 6:51) From this moment on, Jesus is on a journey. His physical journey to the cross becomes a metaphor for our spiritual journey during this season of Lent. This Lent, we will focus on that theme of Spiritual Journey, through our messages and a Spirituality Center we are creating in the Social Hall. This Spirituality Center will feature a large labyrinth, dramatic banners depicting the journey of Jesus, and spirituality stations that will invite you to employ different senses in exploring your relationship with God. Our Spirituality Center will be open on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings as well as during the work week during business hours. I invite you to visit the center often during the season of Lent. Try different stations during your visits, and set a pace that is slow and reflective. Let the center enhance your spiritual journey during this Holy Season.
