Staff Bios

Rev. Dr. Steven Marsh
Steve has served in Presbyterian ministry for 29 years (ordained 1982). Thirteen of those years have been in Senior Pastor/Head of Staff roles. He has served churches in California, Pennsylvania and Kansas as well as worked as Assistant Professor of Religious and Philosophical Studies, Dean of Chapel and Vice-President for Spiritual Formation at Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas. Most recently he served as Executive Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Edmond, Oklahoma. Steve’s passion for ministry is rooted in the person and purpose of Jesus Christ and in bridging the gap between personal faith and social engagement.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from California State University. Steve began his theological studies at Fuller Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity degree. The final year of his Master of Divinity was completed at Princeton Theological Seminary. Steve received his Doctor of Ministry degree at San Francisco Theological Seminary. Most recently he completed a Master of Philosophy degree at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. Steve’s academic pursuits have focused on historical theology, Reformed theology and John Calvin’s theology of salvation with a particular emphasis on his view of conversion.

Steve has served as a member and chairperson of various Presbytery committees. He currently serves on the Committee on Ministry in the Presbytery of Indian Nations. In addition, he serves on the Board of Trustees for Sterling College and is an active member of the Rotary Club of Edmond. 

Steve’s life and ministry demonstrate a deep commitment to evangelism. His dedication to discipleship and his love of teaching the Bible are equally important priorities in his ministry. Steve also brings the gift of leadership to his ministry settings.

Steve’s hobbies include golf, collecting baseball cards, exercising and reading. He is joined by his wife of 33 years, Janet, who has been a source of strength and blessing. 

Steve and Janet have three children: Colin, 29 (wife Becca) who lives in Wichita, Kansas and works for Murfin, Inc.; Karis, 25 (husband Brian Gensch) a graphic designer also residing in Wichita, Kansas; Robby, 21 a junior at Bucknell University studying computer engineering and economics. They also have a six month old granddaughter, Breckyn Marsh.

Rev. Dr. Randall Spindle
Randall Spindle serves as Senior Minister at Westminster. He has served as Minister of Congregational Care and Minister of Adult Education. He is the teacher of the adult Forum Class and periodically leads other Bible studies and adult classes. Randall and his wife, Debra, have two adult sons. He enjoys study, research and spending time with his family.

Jo Ann McFarlin
Jo Ann McFarlin has served as Director of Finance and Administration since 2006.  Jo Ann held the same position at First Presbyterian Church, Tulsa, for more than twelve years, and at Fourth Presbyterian Church, Chicago, for three years. As Director of Finance & Administration, Jo Ann is responsible the day to day oversight of financial, business operations, annual budget and stewardship , human resource functions,  technology and facilities management.  

Jo Ann moved here from Chicago to live closer to her family and friends (her five siblings live in Tulsa and Wichita), and because “I like the winters in Oklahoma better!”  She enjoys reading, antiquing, traveling, walking and her German Shepherd named Maggy.

Mac McCoy
Mac McCoy has served as Director of Youth Ministry since 2006. Previously Mac served in the same position for 8 years at Highland Park Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas, and another 8 years at First Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Growing up in Louisiana, Mac graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in business and became a partner in a small group that owned and operated travel agencies in Mississippi and Louisiana. Volunteering with Young Life and churches as a leader and a musician eventually led to his career change to full time ministry.

Mac iand his wife of 28 years, Catherine, have two children, Micah, a junior in college and Sarah, a junior in high school. Mac still enjoys playing guitar and is an avid cyclist.

Rev. Ken Blank
Ken Blank is the part-time Pastoral Associate for WPC, working Fridays and Sundays. He is working with the Care Ministries and adult education. Ken attended Montclair University and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is certified in pastoral education, chaplaincy and counseling. His interests are in Religion and Medicine and Medical Ethics where he was the Co-Chair of the Ethics Committee at OU Medical Center. 

Ken also works for the Muskogee VA Medical Center where he is directing their clergy training program. Ken's wife, Audrey is an attorney for the City of Tulsa and they live in Edmond. He and Audrey have been married 33 years and have two daughters and a granddaughter.

Heather Selement
Heather Selement is our new Director of Children’s Ministry. She feels that God has called her to help children experience God’s love for them and to help them grow in their relationships with Him. She wants each child to feel that they belong at WPC and she is looking forward to getting to know each of the children and families.

Heather comes to us from City Rescue Mission where she spent the last six years as the Family Ministries and Social Services Director. While at the Mission, she built a program that encouraged and supported families going through the trauma of finding themselves homeless. She has her BA in Ministry and Theology from Southern Nazarene University. While in college she met her husband Tim, who is a local firefighter. They were blessed in May with the birth of their first child, Avery Faith. Heather enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and playing with her dogs, Boomer and Sydney. 

Sarah Adams-Cornell
Sarah Adams-Cornell had served as the Director of Communications since 2008. She studied at Cottey College and the University of Oklahoma. Sarah enjoys the many hats she wears as Communications Director. “I love that I am able to dabble in many different forms of communication. From graphic design to writing to photography, I enjoy it all.” 

Sarah and her husband, Dustin have two children, Isabella and Gabrielle. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys visiting art museums, reading and trying new restaurants with friends and family. Sarah is a member of the Choctaw Nation and the Oklahoma City Choctaw Tribal Alliance. She enjoys sharing her culture with others and learning alongside her daughters.

Kelley Lombard
Kelley Lombard is recently retired from the military with 27 years of service in the Oklahoma Army National Guard. 24 of these years were spent in active duty status. She began her military career in the medical field as an x-ray technician, but soon switched to human resources to become a full-time employee with the Guard. Her travels with the military include Honduras, Panama, Germany, France; and deployments to Saudi Arabia in 1990-91 during the Gulf War, and to Kuwait in 2008-09 for Operation Iraqi Freedom.  

Kelley grew up in Oklahoma City and received a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Oklahoma City University.  She has one son, Nicholas who enjoys teaching golf and doing home improvement projects.  Kelley enjoys vacationing, swimming, reading and dining with friends and family.    

Shantel Wagner
Shantel has served as Youth Ministry Associate at Westminster since April 2011. She is from Oklahoma City and graduated from Putnam City North in 2009. Shantel is a nursing major at Oklahoma City University and is also a part of the OCU Women’s Rowing team. After finishing her undergraduate degree, she hopes to get her masters in Nurse Practitioning and doctorate in Natural Medicine.  

"I love working with the youth because it gives me the opportunity to be fun and crazy and teach students about the life God has planned for them. I hope that I am half the youth leader I had when I was in high school. If I am, then I am doing my job and leading great students to Christ!" 

Shantel enjoys riding my motorcycle, playing with her Schnoodle, Rhodi and her Chihuahua, Bean Dip, being crafty, hanging out with her friends and being adventurous. "People would say I’m part hippie, but I’m on a green mission. And I love the color purple, but my office is orange??  (No, I’m not an OSU fan.)"

Ferrelyn Oakes
Ferrelyn Oakes works in our congregational care ministry. She began her ministry at WPC in 1981. She makes nursing home and hospital visitations and coordinates the work of the Board of Deacons. Prior to assuming her current position, Ferrelyn served Westminster as the Director of Christian Education, Director of Equipping Ministries and Membership/Evangelism. Ferrelyn and her husband, Bill, have two married children and four grandchildren. She enjoys gardening and spending time with family and friends.

June White
June White is a native Tulsan, attended the University of Tulsa, and with her family, was a charter member of Tulsa’s Southminster Presbyterian Church. She graduated from O.S.U., and later that year began the adventure of being married to Pat White for nearly 61 years. In the early fifties they settled in OKC, where their two daughters were reared and now live.  Her family includes two sons-in law, a granddaughter and her husband, a grandson, and five “greats”.  

June feels it has been her privilege to work with outstanding ministers and staff, plus special and caring WPC members. "Being involved in the many activities of the Board of Deacons, the Women of Westminster, the Care Teams and Membership and Mission Teams through the years has been challenging, rewarding and a blessing." 

John Engell
John Engell has served as Facility Manager since 2004. He grew up in Ohio and spent four years serving in the Air Force, including two years in Germany. He worked for MCI Telecommunications for almost 20 years prior to coming to Westminster. 

He has an Associate’s Degree in Telecommunications Systems from the Community College of the Air Force and a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Malone University. 

Like most positions at the church, John has many varied responsibilities. You might find him doing anything from taking out the trash to fixing a computer. John has been married to Janet for 28 years; they live in Choctaw with their two beagles. John enjoys camping, traveling and trying out new foods and restaurants.

Louise Milliner
Louise Milliner has worked at Westminster since 2001, and has served as Coordinator of NOAH activities and events for the past 6 years.  She loves interacting with the older adults in the church.  “We have so much fun on our tours and trips in Oklahoma City and around the state.  We also enjoy being entertained and enlightened by musicians, authors, speakers, and others who are invited to join us at the church.”   

Louise is a native of Oklahoma but grew up in Akron, Ohio.  In 1979, she moved to Houston, TX where she lived for 20 years.  In 1999, she moved to Oklahoma City.  Louise’s daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter, and grandson reside in Las Vegas, NV.  Her favorite pastimes include cooking and baking more than anything, but also enjoys reading cookbooks and watching major league baseball. 

Josh Phelps
Director of Worship and Music, Josh Phelps, joined the program staff of Westminster Presbyterian Church in August of 2011. A native of Knoxville, Tennessee, he holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Tennessee and Master of Music Degree from the University of Oklahoma. Having been a professional church musician for over ten years, Josh has served Presbyterian, Methodist and Baptist churches in capacities ranging from scholarship intern and music librarian to assistant conductor, professional soloist and director of music ministries. 

Josh very much enjoys his work in music ministry at Westminster and can be quoted as saying, “It is an honor to serve a congregation with such a rich musical tradition. The unique quality of music offered in praise to God in our worship services speaks to the fact that those who serve in our music ministries, and those whose generosity makes our efforts possible, are deeply committed and extremely faithful.” 

In his time away from Westminster, Josh enjoys spending time with his family, his friends and his horse.    

Bethany Ward
Club 56 Coordinator, Bethany Ward was born and raised in Burkburnett, TX. She attended Oklahoma Baptist University and earned a degree in Anthropology with a minor in Bible. She graduated from OBU in May 2011 and started Cosmetology school at Paul Mitchell in Norman in June 2011, where she still attends. Bethany is married to Youth Ministry Intern, Chad Ward. 

Bethany has worked with youth and children for many years and hopes to continue working with children and youth for the rest of her life. Bethany says, "I am so blessed to be here at Westminster and cannot wait to get to know you and your children better." 

Lori Jirousek
Executive Assistant to the Executive Pastor, Lori Jirousek earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management from Kent State University.

Lori has served as Executive Assistant to Rev. Dr. Steven Marsh since August 2011. Lori says, "I'm so thankful to continue the journey and continue to work with Steve here at WPC."

Lori comes to us from First Presbyterian Church in Edmond. She started in August 2006, first as child care worker, then Kid's Ministries Program Coordinator. She and her family have attended First Pres Edmond since 2006.

Lori grew up in Chesterland, Ohio then moved to Edmond, OK in 2006, after her husband of 17 years, David, took a position with Chesapeake Energy.

Lori and David have two children, Olivia (15 yrs old) attends Edmond Memorial High School, Darla (12 yrs old) attends Edmond Central Middle School.

Lori enjoys watching her girls perform in their various activities. Olivia is an accomplished flute player with the Oklahoma Youth Philharmonia, EMHS Wind Ensemble, EMHS Contest Orchestra, EMHS Pit Orchestra, OK Flute Society Honor Choir, Bulldog Marching Band-Lori attends every concert and football game to cheer her on. Darla is a tournament level tennis player and Lori can be found at every tournament during the weekends in the summer cheering her on. Lori also enjoys visits from family and friends when they come to town.
