Meet Pastor Michelle Junkin

Rev. Michelle Junkin

Rev. Michelle Phillip Junkin grew up in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. She is a graduate from North Central College, in Naperville, Illinois, with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts in 1997. In 2001, she graduated with a Dual Degree; a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and a Master of Christian Education (M.A.C.E.) from Union Theological Seminary and the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, Virginia. She was ordained by the Chicago Presbytery in 2001. Michelle then served on the staff of Ginter Park Presbyterian Church from 2001 – 2007 as the Associate Pastor. In the spring of 2007, Michelle and her family moved to Edmond, Oklahoma.  She began serving at Westminster in September 2012.

Michelle is married to Peter Junkin, a graduate of Oklahoma State University, who grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma. Peter is Vice President and Consultant for Asset Services Company and a trust officer for InvesTrust. Peter and Michelle, enjoy an active lifestyle including triathlons, marathons and kayaking. They have a daughter, Amira, and a Samuel (Sammy).  

In her spare time, Michelle is a National Award winning artist. In 2003, she was invited to serve as the Liturgical Arts Designer & Coordinator for the 216th PCUSA General Assembly. Her work exhibits in juried national shows and regional competitions. Her mediums include clay, stone, acrylic, gouache, mixed media and clay monoprints.
